Demetris Souliotis was born in Trikala, Greece, in 1966. He is a graduate of the Department of Physics of the University of Patra and did his postgraduate studies at the University of Athens in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications. From 1993 to the present he has been working in education and training at the Ministry of Education as Director of the Institute of Professional Training in Glifada. He has served as a Board Member of the Institute of Lifelong Learning, on the Board of KEK ELTA, and as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Institute of Migrant Policy.
He is a member of the Union of Greek Physicists and President of the Koridalou Cultural Centre for Folkdancing, Athletics and New Technology. He is also a teacher at the National Centre for Public Administration. During his career, he has had extensive experience with European programmes for training, culture and student mobility. He has worked with the French Ministry of Education on matters of training and is a member of the Board of The Paneuropean Network, RECOMFOR, for training on international trade.
